Searching For Gold With Reese Townes : Meadview Arizona

Today we search with metal detectors for gold nuggets near Meadview Arizona. I spent a couple of days camping with Reese Townes and we checked out a few of the local gold claims that are owned by one of his friends. Reese is an author and travels the country in search of gold. I had a great time.

Old timers in the valley once told me it's worth your time to take your time and check places you wouldn't expect to have gold. For example, ravens/crows like shiny things it's said; you might be surprised what you can find around their nest areas. Another good one was desert anthills. It seems ants will often remove gold they encounter while building their homes.

Jack's Gold Fever Adventures is a good club for access to claims in Arizona. I detected the very spot where you said not much was left. I got 74 small pieces in that area of the claim. I also removed several ounces of tiny lead bird shot. That being said, there is most certainly more there! And yes, the winds blows! Good video, brought back good memories of that claim. Thanks.

Hey mr chigg! The videos are great, and all the knowledge is much appreciated! If you ever get the chance check out southern Oregon! We have a lot of gold mines, claims and ghost towns. I think there is 45 within 60 miles of our valley. We also have native American forts with great history only two hours away!

Man the wind Rips through there. I remember one night I had my tent and it was blowing so hard it pushed the tent on top of me, no sleep all night. However good gold and meteorites produced!
