Valve Cover Gaskets and Oil Filter Housing Gasket must be replaced when they start The Oil Leaks will cost you more down the road if not addressed (failure of other parts - such as Serpentine Belt which sometimes gets "sucked" into the crankcase - past the crankshaft seal which can lead total engine failure) plus it makes a big mess. Don't let these leaks go, fix them as soon as you can.

Had a valve cover gasket leak on my 2007 335i… 10 years ago and I’m still stressing about it

Its a feature, not a bug; antirust oil spraying mechanism or in German language, chaise bankenruppten

Early n52 head bolts (they're not actually head bolts but we will go with that) shear off and cause huge leaks down the side and front of engine. Im dealing with the same bs on my n52. Its a pita

If a BMW is not leaking oil, there is no oil in it 😂

So I’ve changed valve cover and gasket, both oil filter and oil cooler gasket on my N52b30. There is oil above and below head gasket line, but nothing below the valve cover gasket line. I still have a drip below the car and oil looks clear and fresh. No drips below oil filter and cooler gaskets. But seeing drip forming on lower adage of alternator. What am I missing? Did I not notice spilling oil when I filled everything up? 🤦🏻‍♂️

I have this leak. What’s causing it? Oil filter housing?

I changed both that and the valve cover gasket myself lately but had troubled tightening the bolt on the oil housing by the manifold could it be coming from there?

so its pouring oil out the back of the oil filter housing gasket mine was the same i took care of it. if you don't fix soon enough fluids will mix and show signs of a head gasket failure when really its a 15$ gasket.
