Thor masking his grief with calm laughter is heart-wrenching.

This is one of the best scenes in the entire mcu.

This is peak Thor; comedy that masks grief, but doesn't overpower it. Love and Thunder could've learned so much from this.

THIS was the moment that made Thor a great character where we learn he was actually affected by the events of Ragnarok and was holding it in.

Hemsworth acted phenomenally in this scene, just looking at his eye you can see the deep pain and grief Thor is in that he tries to hard on surface level to cover up with laughter and optimism, an excellent scene for Thor’s character development

I didn’t realize this but that line “time to be the captain.” Really shows how far Rocket has come, he doesn’t assert his authority, he actually tries to get to know his crew and try to boost morale like a good captain does.

That "he's never fought me twice" is one of my favorite lines in fiction 😂

What superb acting. You can feel the pain in his voice. Brings a tear to your eyes. Is it wrong to say this is one of my favorite scenes in the MCU?

Rocket's survival was foreshadowed earlier in the movie, when Thor asks if Rocket (rabbit) is the Captain, to which Rocket sarcastically says he is to spite Quill, "foreshadowing" the ending when all of the Guardians disintegrate except him, ironically making him the Captain, and when he and Thor are discussing loss, Thor says something to the effect of having nothing left to lose, and Rocket mumbles (twice), - "I've got some things to lose." Losing all of his friends, his family, including Groot.

"If I'm wrong then....(begins tearing up and sniffs as his voice breaks)..what more could I lose?" I think at some level, Thor wasn't only AFRAID of failing, he knew he was going to.

Rocket "A best friend?"
Thor: "Stabbed through the heart."
That gut-wrenching moment when you realize he was not only referring to Heimdall...

His mother Frigga was killed by a dark elf, his father Odin died in front of his eyes, Thanos killed his best friend Heimdall, along with his brother Loki and his people, but most importantly he lost his dignity and belief. He's not a leader or a king he's no more than a worthy warrior who lost everyone and everthing but yet he still chose to fight.

02:00 What's most sad about this quote is that he thought losing his family was the worst that could happen. Thanos winning meant he also lost his friends. Just when it couldn't get worse it actually did.

Why no one talk about Rocket said "Time to be a captain" then imidiately talk to Thor to cheer him. What a great leadership Rocket has!

1:42 now knowing the existence of the TVA and He Who Remains, technically speaking Thor is correct here

Thor was trying so hard to show that he was strong... to concentrate on vengeance... but he was falling apart from the inside... those tears of pain, you can really feel his pain🥺🙁😭
