ARP 2600 Semi-modular Analog Synthesizer — Daniel Fisher

Показать описание

Daniel Fisher, Sweetwater's mangler of modulars, demonstrates the ARP 2600, built between 1971 and 1980, was a legendary analog synthesizer. Now it’s back — for a limited time! Combining the massive sound-shaping capabilities of modular patch-point architecture with the immediacy and user-friendliness of normalled signal paths, the semi-modular 2600 delivered the perfect blend of power, portability, and ease of use. Today’s ARP 2600 includes modern upgrades such as USB and MIDI DIN connections, XLR audio outputs, and the upgraded ARP 3620 duophonic keyboard with an added arpeggiator/sequencer.

A beautiful time to be childless and unmarried. I’m getting this.

Daniel Fisher on every single synth video: "You know I just got this thing in this morning, it didn't even come with any information, it's a prototype, I have a sick job, you can look at other videos if you want instructions, I really just want you to hear the thing..." [Lays down a sick, 30-minute synth-noodle delirium.]

That creamy, full, bubbling sound, I recognize it a mile away... this is without doubt one of the finest pieces of electronic instruments ever created. Alas, they are already sold out here in Sweden, so I will need to stay in the queue hoping for a second batch.

In ‘78 we opened up an ARP. We found a Moog component inside buried in epoxy. This was done at the Moog Factory in Cheektowaga, NY.

I still love the sound that Tony Banks (Genesis) and Neil Larson would get.

Holy baby jesus...Hallelujah! FINALLY Korg came thru with the ARP 2600. I owned an orange face that I bought new back in the 70's. Cross your fingers that they offer it in orange face. If you're into analog synths, this is the holy grail. I'm so excited I think I might pee myself. I've been looking at an original 2600, but it's $15, 000.00 . Happy camper here.

My first synthesizer purchase was a 2600 back in the 70s.

This is truly a beautiful synth in every way of staying true to the original in terms of design and sound! Salute to Korg for doing this!

Dan, your demos are always the most musical. Thank you for always making each new instrument sound so fun and enticing.

I like the fact that it has the old style MIDI ports. I have a vintage Roland PAD-8, and no device to plug into. I had a cheap Yamaha keyboard with DIN ports and plug my pads and play drums.

A flagship reissue that will stand out for years and years! So nice to see Daniel meeting the 2600 for the first time, I really hope he will make a follow up video "after the deep dive". This synth deserves a super in-depth review.

I really appreciate that you took the time to do an A/B of the speakers to DI

Complete. A world unto itself. And the sound quality says to me that no compromises were made in its construction.

Those cases make this quite a posh package. Excellent additions to the original design, too!

Christ, I'm jumping out of my skin right now. What a great demo, and by all appearances Korg just killed this one. What an amazing job.
