What is great with John Cage is that he is inviting us to listen to music differently. Not like romantic music, where you are dictated which emotion to feel at every single moment.

I had some 1 hour down time at work (3 am). I decided to listen to this while reading about low-noise microphones and recorders (starting from your web site). I never listened to John Cage in my youth, thinking that it was too random. I'm quite surprised of the structure that was there all along.

Last week I met a friend after we had both watched a really good program on TV about the Minimalists. He said that Steve Reich had been a massive influence in his life. I said John Cage had been a massive influence on mine. The following day when I did some vacuuming, a large nut and bolt fell onto the floor, seemingly from nowhere
