Robert Fergusson's Memorial, Canongate Kirk, Edinburgh

Robert Fergusson the poet was a major influence on Robert Burns and the bard paid for his gravestone as well as procuring his burial site for perpetuity in the prestigious Canongate Kirk cemetery. Fergusson had at first been buried in a pauper's grave.
