------------

In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

The next one has to be "winners never quit" - featuring Mike Wozniak running after his balloon, Ed Gamble redoing the final episode task, Josh Widdicombe dutifully counting beans, etc.

"I'm not winning this so I'm going to enjoy it."

Joe didn't quit, he tactically lost.

Sometimes I’m surprised the contestants give up so easily, but far more often I’m surprised at how willing they are to keep going at something they’re obviously terrible at and have no chance of completing in any reasonable amount of time. I just love how dedicated they (almost always) are to this amazingly absurd show!

One of the best moments, Nish's realisation that he could have done better but didn't think about it until Alex mentioned.

I like how nobody is even particularly surprised that Nish didn't think to pick up the coconut; by the finale episode everyone is just like "Yeah of course Nish fucked it up in the most unbelievable way imaginable."

Joe Wilkinson is the dictionary definition of 'Less Is More'. His breakfast was a series highlight!

Can we have a compilation of those people who take forever but are the only ones to finish?

trying.

Nish coconut was the best. The dramatic build up and then the CLONK. "Couldve thrown it again - back inside"

Iain getting genuinely, visibly upset at his own performance on tasks is still some of the best telly broadcast.

Iain's 'fuck it, let's do that as well' is just... delicious

Richard Osman also completely gave up on rescuing Patatas from the tree, despite being the tallest contestant (and after Katherine Ryan had suggested he could just basically reach up, LOL).

"please don't take it away from me" is the most harrowing thing I've seen for ages 🤣😭

I mean honestly though….you’re given a free pass to a fully stocked kitchen and don’t have to pay for the food or probably do the clean up. Joe’s reaction is probably the best move ever. One question though. Ketchup on what looks like actual fine salami. Why?!

I like how they showed joe making a full meal out of his egg and just not trying to be fast, whereas Katherine was the one who literally quit on that same task lol

Greg really comes out with the solid questions on Tim Key: "What were you hoping was going to come out of the whole excuse note thing?"

Honestly such a good question- the excuse note was such a poorly thought out plan on a cursory inspection lmao

This could just be literally every task Jo Brand ever did

Well, guess this is my checklist now
