Our full review of the K8 Note smartphone from Lenovo after spending about 5 days with it!

The K8 Note is Lenovo's latest budget phone with Dual Camera and stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat for a smooth and responsive experience.

Lenovo's surprisingly moved to stock android here for this iteration of the their #KillerNote

The Lenovo K8 Note is powered by Mediatek's Deca Core X23 chip and has 3/32 and 4/64 RAM-Storage options.

It has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Dolby Atmos support to excite you with its audio capabilities!

I'm still using this phone, yes it does overheat during video calls that are more than an hour long, and you need to regularly manage RAM usage by turning on developer options in the system settings and doing a clean up of cached processes.

For someone like me who hasn't got a single game installed, and whose primary use is YouTube, music, email, calls, and browsing, this phone is more than adequate.

Add to that the fact that I picked it up in an October 2018 Amazon sale for ₹6900 with 600 cash back and a free protective case, I consider it great value for money for more than two years of satisfied usage. The display remains the main draw, and Dolby Atmos is awesome.

I would consider upgrading to an Amoled display phone with 5G around 20K this year, else I'll hold on to this till 2022.

K8 note's camera isn't a true dual That 5 mp camera just takes depth So unless you are using depth There is just a single camera working

Sir yesterday I have got update in my Lenovo k8 note update version NMB26.54-71.
In this update I have got slow motion video recording, better battery life, optimised ram management. This update is of 111.7 MB in size

PLEASE READ THIS GUYS
Listen, I bought K8 note few days ago, and i have to return the device. Don't get me wrong I love lenovo devices, previously i was using k3 note(it was ok-ish), but i had to return k8 note bcz of some unusual problems.
1.) Though it says it has VOLTE support, maybe it doesn't and again, maybe my device was faulty. On mobile network it only shows LTE (no volte) and with the battery saver on u'll miss incoming calls and can't even make an outgoing call(moto e4 plus also has the same problem and other lenovo devices).
2.) Secondly, it tends to unlock the camera interface while shooting a video, so u can't tap to focus. I don't know everytime i was shooting a video, it locks the whole interface, and then i had to double click and unlock it again(whole lotta work..believe me) irritating af..
3.) While using jio beside the fact i wasn't able to make or receive a call with battery saver on. With normal mode it was great. Problem started when i started using my secondary Aircel SIM. after few hours the phone simply dosent detect the sim, AT first i thought theres a fault in my sim, but then i used vodafone, airtel..same stuff happened.

Lenovo k8 note is a great device no doubt..very fast..impressive camera..average battery..but not at all optimized properly.
I wish lenovo gives an ota update to fix the errors asap

The only thing which most people do not observe is the build quality... The moment you hold that phone in ur hand u can feel that sturdyness. Exceptionally good build quality. When u hold a RN5PRO and Lenovo k8 note u can easily find out how feeble the RN5Pro feels. But the main let down is the heating issue. Even when browsing using chrome or just watching YouTube for about 5 mins or so it gets really warm which makes u feel that its not gonna hold up. That's the main reason why is switched to RN5Pro. But as far as other things like ram management, camera, charging speed, battery performance is totally liveable with.

Don't buy this phone unless they announce an update for screen mirroring. Yeah it's not working. My k8 proved it won't mirror screen. SCREEN MIRRORING IS NOT

Shitty phone.. bought a month back, hated it... Exchanged it with a Samsung J7 nxt with 5000 rupees... Will buy Asus Zenfone 5..

I don't know what problem people have with this phone. I bought it 2 weeks back and have been using it since.
I have no problem with.The battery life is good and will get you through the day with still 40% battery left.
Gaming is awesome as I am a hard core gamer and play 2 to 3 games simultaneously like asphalt 8, mortal combat x and mc 5 and there are no frame drops or and kind of lag for that matter.
It gets warmer but not hot like people exaggerate.

I have the 4-64 varient.

Battery is draining so quick..Goes off in 2hrs-3hrs for normal usage...And also takes more than 2hrs to charge fully..Once it took 6hrs to charge fully..Solutions Please?😭

What are other options in other brands with feature like secure zone?

I want to buy a phone around 20k, compact below 5", with 4G, Volte, Fingerprint, Andriod 6 or above, better battery life, NFC(may or not). Usage is 3-4 mail accounts, whatsapp for personal and office use, and a decent camera. Bit tech savvy, so internet usage is moderate.

Please suggest a dual sim phone accordingly.

Worst quality control by Lenovo. This phone doesn't support screen mirroring. It doesn't work with my Amazon fire stick. Lenovo is aware of it and unwilling to fix it. The same is the problem with all other Lenovo k8 note users.
