Just wanted to comment that if youre a beginner, PLEASE dont do the chaplin like how he does in this video, hes doing it wrong and you will drop/throw it(depends how fast youre going 😆). Instead of moving your wrist like he does in the video, keep your wrist mostly stiff and use your elbow as the fulcrum for the spinning motion, the longer leverage is what keeps the knife stable during the chaplin. (If youre having trouble keeping a chaplin going, this is probably why)

Also just wanted to say you can literally see him lose control of the knife after the 2nd turn of the chaplin and just does an awkward catch to play it off 😂

the wrist pass really does what it supposed to when you have the blade coming for your fingers
the chaplin may or may not just sit anywhere on ur finger, it should be on the 2nd digit so as to stay on the finger and not fall off after like a rotation or two, with the exception of your thumb ofc

I do the wrist pass with the bite handle personally so that the blade is pointing the right direction.

Got me a trainer since real ones are illegal to even own where I live, but [explicit] is it nice to "fidget" with it! I learned way more opening and closing variations than I ever knew before, when they were still legal and I was younger. I even discovered a few opening and closing variations myself, lol, but at least one variation I didn't saw yet. But then maybe I need to look more.
