Took some time away from working to attend a shearing course with Robbie Hislop and I’m glad I did!

Since the course I’ve been shearing so much better and enjoying the challenge of implementing the new skills I’ve been shown.

Thanks for watching and please take a second to click the subscribe button.

I’ve added links for some of the gear I use below.

Thanks

The guy in the dark blue t-shirt is an expert and telling the others how to manage the animal and how to line it up so that the blade moves fast and not hit any wrinkle. He sure does know how to shear those sheep.

You’re such a humble guy Cami. I love watching your videos with your soft Scottish burr, and sense of humour plus so damned honest about the reality of farming. Thank you

Its really helpful for guys like me who only have a small number of sheep to practice on to have channels like yours and Robbie's to learn from. Thanks for putting this together.

Great job! As a wool spinner, I keep seeing socks, sweater, hat, blanket... Those nice, long lines really help reduce the "second cuts" that drive us fiber folks crazy. Always learning, that's the best way to go about life. Thanks for the video!

First time shearing sheep this year, watched a few YouTube videos to get an idea of the technique. 17 suffolks later and I’m feeling it 😂 felt like I done a decent job though, always keen to learn new skills 😆

A race track Farrier once told me, there's no living harder on the human body, than one making a living, with your head lower than your arse all day. I used to marvel at the strength and skill needed to shoe one or two dozen horses a day. Now that I've watched most of your videos, it's plain that: shoeing horses is child's play compared to shearing hundreds of sheep in a day!

It is great the way the sheep lays relaxed into it.. usually.

I notice that nobody seems to wrap fleeces like we used to. Push the daggy bits in a scap bag and wrap the fleeces sides in and then roll neck to tail end in a neat bundle. They now seem to just bundle them up and stuff them in a big sack any old how.

Humility and honesty - what a joy, Cammy. Have you considered running the U.K.? A bit of these two H's might see us all alright.

Grate vidio that very informative it has to be seid that we all have bits that we could inprove on and the only guys who will improve are those who ask for help not pretend that they are perfect. I have subscribed to robbies channel and liked the Facebook page already and i am really learning a lot
