Did you know a oil manufacturer can call a lubricant a Full Synthetic when it's only 25% synthetic? AMSOIL is different because it is 100% Synthetic and has a higher film strength keeping the metal parts separated. AMSOIL allows less friction, less heat, less wear on the component.

Would be so nice if all these tests were done at 15* F to see how the different oils would perform in a realistic scenario (for me)

Given the price($13-$14 gal) and living on the west coast where it never dips colder than 30s, mobile delvac just fine.

I love Shell Rotella. I use it in all my old 1990s pick up trucks. Never had an issue with this oil

I run rotella T4 15w40 with STP oil treatment in my lifted 4x4 in summer and then in winter I run synthetic Rotella 0w40 also with STP oil treatment. At almost 400k of hard-core offroad and towing usage, the truck is still going strong.

Anyone that lives with temps that low should have a oil and block heater. One start up will destroy the engine with both oils at those temperatures.

I used Rottela all the time, for some reason, they start disappearing from Walmart (cheaper price) with covid bs, so I stuck with Delvac ...I noticed right away it looks and flow a little thiker when pouring in the engine (and it s darker ), however, the slight tiking sound it disappeared with Delvac. Driving a volvo d 13 engine. I d like to see the friction test at normal temperature for winter and sumer (for -30 that way extream ) .this winter most I got is 32 to rarely 1 f ), plus they have 10 w -40 for winter time for a reason .

Shell (Pennzoil, Rotella) are tough competitors, Make sure you test the Heavy-Duty Diesel Amsoil it's about the same price but with Free shipping

a good test would be how much the oil degrades after certain heat temperatures

And don't forget the Shell Rotella 15W-40 T6, that is their synthetic.

My tractors are diesel, my truck is diesel. The number one rule is ALWAYS START THEM AND LET THEM WARM UP BEFORE DRIVING AND WORKING!

Did you get that cold machine you put just to do these oil tests or what did you get it for. Never seen that machine before.

I'm using 20W50 in one of my older trucks. Can you cold flow test that or have you already?
