The imagery pictured by the words of Jesus’ in John 14:1-4 creates a picture of a Jewish marriage.

As symbol of her anticipation, the bride-to-be kept a candle lit in her window, hoping that this might be the night her groom-to-be would return for her.

Jesus was using the imagery of a wedding when He said, regarding His return: “No one knows the day of my return. Not even me. Only my Father in heaven knows.”

He is still using the wedding Picture when He says: “I am going to prepare a place for you. When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with Me where I am.”

(Jesus said) “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the FATHER except through me.” (John 16:6)

1. I Am The Way . . . . The ONLY Way

2. I Am The Truth . . . The ONLY Truth

3. I Am The Life . . . . The ONLY Life

Jesus “Farewell Exchange” to His Disciples

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” (John 14:1)

Peace I leave with you, My own peace I now give and bequeath unto you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Don’t let your hearts be troubled, either let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
