I think the most impressive thing is that the scooter is making 43hp from a friggin 150cc engine, that's 287hp per litre!
Significantly more than any supercar or bike.

would of been interesting against a manual m3! The last gear change for that vespa makes it drop back abit. Probably hasnt got the torque to get it back up to rev range quick enough

Respect to the vespa rider, considering the vespa has most of its weight in the rear, with 43 bhp keeping that front wheel on the ground needs some serious skill and control.
I know this very well, as I owned a 200cc vespa in the 80's (my first ride).
That thing had only 12 bhp and it still was a hassle to keep it planted on hard acceleration from a stop.

Holy hell. Ive had my p200e up to about 65 mph. But 97mph on 10" rims is insane. But damn much respect.

Of course we knew the BMW would be fast and yes the Vespa was race-spec purpose built machine but that was a seriously impressive performance from the scooter.
