Leslye tries to sound so insightful in this interview, but she seems to just ramble on trying to convince herself that she gave us such great storytelling. When someone talks a mile-a-minute to try to get their point across, it usually means they themselves have major doubts in what they're even defending.

I like that she's equating the Sith, the embodiment of evil, with the Rebels and the counter-culture movement. Makes sense.

The ironic thing is she's on record saying she was afraid to touch cannon and that's why she produced a show well before the prequels. Clearly she didn't understand that affecting the past changes the future. Everything about this show impacts the cannon negatively.

The whole thing about "It's a birthday change" is completely stupid on their part. A birthday change would be, "He was canonically born on January 7th, but now they changed it to October 28th". That's a birthday change; when it's a change of the day someone was born in the same year! This was having someone be alive 40 years before they were even supposed to be born! This is more than just a "birthday change"; this is a "birthyear change"!

I’m convinced now that the writers and producers of this series were never exposed or ever part of a school play or even a high school drama production. It’s like “we never did that before, so we’ll do it here.” The series really feels like a bad high school play…
