Swallowing 20 magnets is not an accident, it was obviously on purpose!

AI voices can't distinguish between tears (as when something is torn) and tears (as in tears of joy or of grief).

My second job as a teen was an x-ray file clerk in a hospital downtown, back in the mid 90’s, there was a super thick file of a revolving door patient who swallowed all kinds of things, like metal nuts and bolts, to knives and forks to a straight up stapler, the file grew and grew over time. Years later became a nurse worked in a mental health crisis unit, actually met the patient created all those interesting x-rays, ofc she was also a revolving door patient at the mental health clinic.. after a few years of her in and out, we straight up asked her why she swallows all these strange objects. She told us, she’s addicted to anesthetic when going under for surgery, and morbidly she searches for the sensation, of what it feels like to die without actually dying.

Note to self: Don't eat magnets, knives, silverware, or cell phones. Don't shoot myself in the head with a nail gun. Don't put bottles and light bulbs where the sun doesn't shine.

I was an ER nurse and an x-ray tech. And could write a book on what people will put inside the body, in EVERY OPENING in the body. Mostly on purpose!!! And yes, people ARE CRAZY!

I can't judge anyone here, when I was little I would make mud pies and bake them, then I would eat them. My pediatrician told my mom I must be missing something that the dirt provides, needless to say my mom changed my doctor. However in the year of 2012 at the age of 42 I get admitted to the hospital seriously I'll and when the blood work came back I had a potassium level of 2.4. Normally potassium should be 3.5 any lower is heart attack. I ate dirt because I was very, very low in electrolytes and vitamins.

My girlfriend (a nurse in ER) told me about one incident concerning a lightbulb that had ended up where the sun doesn’t shine. The inexperienced fellow in charge that evening got the bright idea to prevent it from breaking by filling it with a quick-drying ingredient. I don’t know what it was he used (quicklime?) but it heated up while curing. So there was “a hot time in the old town” that night, with resulting internal burns. Ouch!🙀

I’m a retired 100% disabled Marine Corps Veteran. I have 3 tours in Vietnam 🇻🇳 but I only walked out once. My last tour was in 1970. In 2024 I had to have a double amputation and they found a lot of metal still in my foot that had been messed after all these years. Not sorry because I would do it all over again.😊

I was shot in the abdomen by a nail gun. I was standing behind my boss getting ready to hand him another board, when he suddenly turned around with a framing nail gun and he had his finger on the trigger. It hit my nail bag belt and fired into my abdomen, sticking into my hip bone. He took out his hammer and used the claw to pull it out. Curiously it barely bled, but he took me to the emergency room anyway. Xrays showed it only hit muscle and there was a small hole where it hit my hip bone. They dosed me up with a bunch of antibiotics, slapped a Bandaid on it and sent me home. The next day I was so sore I could barely walk and called in sick. Boss told me to stay home for a few days and he paid me for each day. I guess he felt bad for the accident, but I didn't hold a grudge!

I worked the ER and it's a hoot what gets stuck up the butt. It's like a vacuum, DON"T LET GO. And for heavens sake if you must use the handle of a bowl brush don't use one with a hanging hook on the end . LOL the good old days before I retired .

It is very hard to pick one from the many on here. Like others are saying, the one that stuck out to me, was the child swallowing the magnets, people are so quick in suing people for something that was clearly done by the child, not by accident, but physically picking it up and putting it in her mouth and swallowing. The company who sold the toy probably had it in their instructions, that children should be supervised by the parents as there are small parts, if a child is too young to understand that putting magnets in your mouth and swallowing it is wrong, then they should not be playing with the magnets unless being supervised. But suing a company for your fault is just not on. The batteries are the same. Mind you, the state of the stuff that is retrieved is disgusting as well, due to the fluids that are inside us humans. Parent much watch over children and to make sure to keep these things away from them. Don't blame the company.

Pica is an eating disorder where a person compulsively eats things that aren’t food and don’t have any nutritional value or purpose. Depending on when and why a person does this, pica can be normal, expected and harmless. However, it can cause major problems if a person with this condition eats something toxic or dangerous.

I worked as an OR Nurse for 34 years. I’ve seen flash lights, summer squash x2, gerbils, a rod from a gear shift, beer bottles, glass thermometer, razor blades, and many more things. The OR is a very interesting place

I had to go to the ER once after a really bad situation happened. When they took me into x-ray I was so out of it that I was not able to tell them I had rods fused to my full T-spine due to a birth defect. The Technician came out from their little room there to the side of the X-ray machine with a look on his face. When I saw him I thought I knew exactly what his question would be but he was more worried that the situation that landed me in the ER was the cause of the rods being inside of me. The relief on his face when I told him they were supposed to be there.
