Thank you for sharing your journey. We are currently cash flowing our son's college tuition while paying off debt. The next debt in line we are working on is our HELOC and we have slowed down putting so much "extra" on it and saving as much as we can during these uncertain times. I'm on a debt free journey also to pay $124K. That breakdown is my student loan $114K and credit cards $10K. I'm following Dave Ramsey's 7 baby steps and on Baby Step 2. The only variance to my budget is leaving a few dollars in the account versus zero based.

I LOVE IT! Good for you and good for your family. I am on a mission girl to paying off my 90k student loan debt (interest makes it that high) my issue was being the only one making a bit more money (24k after taxes a yr) so that isnt saying much but helping my family over the yrs after hurricanes, mom past away, my daughter was left without a car and her savings plus what I gave her she got an affordable mthly payment she can do, my car died my ex car died, my daughter got stranded in NYC cause of a snow storm and her X an epileptic didnt have enough meds for the extended stay...OMG....its been an INSANE 8 yrs!!! BUT...last yr one of my student loan agencies PHEEA began garnishing my wages....that was when I said...OK LISTEN UP FAM....I AM BROKE!!! you all need to fix your own problems....and to be fair....I was giving them the money....they were not asking but my kids are in trouble Mommy bear kicks in but NO MORE....so since last year I have been consistent in DEALING with this andI am now in good standing with my loans. I am thankful that is my only debt. I do not have any other debt AT ALL...I pay my monthly bills and my student loans. I am giving myself 3-5 yrs to get it all done....I have managed to pay off 3 so far and #4 is out the door in Dec...so 2021 is going to be fearce on how I get this done....I am turning 51 on election day I live on my own & I rely 100% on my 2 checks a month and anything xtra from holiday pay or OT goes to debt...I have already sold everything I have that my dog is starting to give me strange looks like if he's next...and he is costly....$500 a yr on food for this fluff so idk 😂😂😂....THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR TRUTH IT IS INSPIRING... WE GOT THIS GIRL!!! 💙
