I have had a cat, and I have two dogs, taking care of a half cat, half human would be easy as, 1-2-3

One more thing to note about her previous owners dog is that most big dogs are calm, and mostly loving doges, they taught their dog to hit the neko, that is just not right, as stated above I have two dogs, both of them lovely things, my profile pic is one of my two pups, the other is a silver, something must be done (I know fiction and all, but something just isn’t right)

I always think that these scenarios are absolute BS, who in their right mind would abandon their neko/cat/pet or send them away?
Then I remember that stuff like this happens IRL and that for some this is actually better than staying, because worse scenarios await.

I had a young cat (no collar and chips weren't a thing back then) that came to my families doorstep, and we took her in.
The first thing she did after we fed her for the first time, was carefully walk into our house, constantly looking at us to see if it's okay, and then walk into my (slightly opened) closet and fall asleep on my clothes.
She died 20 years ago (yes, I'm an "old" fart), I still miss her from time to time.
