I wonder if instead of 20% gold you did 10% gold and 10% bitcoin? Bitcoin is sketchy but seems to be more a valid option as the money printer goes brrrr

Wondering how this could be applied to "currency devaluation", inflation, deflation, and growth cycles. Don't see the US stock market ever providing the same returns again (nominal vs. real), so maybe an 80/20 split in US and overseas stocks. What do you think about gold acting more like a LT bond, adding TIPs, and/or possibly adding REITs/other commodities to replace a portion of that gold percentage? Living in a very crazy time.

Replace once of the bond sections with crypto, then repalce the other bond section with a increase the gold and stock sections equally. I would be interested in something like that. Bonds are wrecked due to the nature of our currency being devalued. Gold is the 21century version of a bond in my opinion.

I've been looking at this but using intermediate term bonds vs short term bonds. Seems to get a better return with not as much downside.

Interesting. I never heard of this strategy until I saw this video. I'm currently in a 100% stock investment plan (per Dave Ramsey). I think the stock plan is fine for the accumulation phase but I'm not sure if it's the best strategy for post-retirement. The golden butterfly sounds better (for post-retirement) since it gives similar rates of return but with reduced volatility. I'll continue to keep an eye out for additional ideas on post-retirement strategies. Thanks for the info!

If i could invest with 2x margin in etfs and no stop loss I would easily get 20% return. Etoro offers margin on nasdaq 100 but have a stop loss which would screw me on market crash.

S&P fund beats that. And is rock solid too. And cheaper as well.
Edit: nobody is going to hold gold in 20years. Its btc or some other crypto.
