My mum, who passed away in july 2021, used to love his music but I could never relate to him or his art. I heard this song when it won Sanremo and didn't think much of it. Fast forward a few weeks, I am having breakfast in a cafe and this song comes on. All of a sudden it hit me like a truck loaded with bricks. It brought all kinds of powerful emotions to my heart, knowing she'd have loved this song and we'd have endlessly argued about it because it was not my taste. Somehow this song today is making feel her presence and I can't stop the tears. Thanks Marco. Mum, wherever you are I hope there is music and light.
