Watching this battle for the speaker of the house is both hilarious as well truly disappointing to see elected officials act like a bunch of pre school children
But at same time, the country gets to see the true colors of the Republican party
The Democrats remained united the entire time while the Republican party was a literally shit show

For me, this mainly shows how important “in person” investigation is.

Using up taxpayer money to put on a clown show. Then use taxpayer money to wine and dine celebrating what…? Is this the core of democracy or have politicians gone rogue…?

they are not the problem. it is all the people who think that voting for their favorite politician is a mark of intelligence. they represent that collective minds of nation.

We got to see Congress be slightly less boring for a couple days. It was almost like watching a few seconds of British Parliament for a m- “ORDER ORDER ORDER!!!!”

A two party system just seems so inefficient in terms of representing people and incentivizing making compromises - I wonder if the US will ever make the transition to a multiparty system

Not appointing a House Speaker is not necessarily a bad thing. Essentially no bills or budgets would be passed, shutting down the government.
Myself and many of my colleagues would welcome this.

Only in American can a black man win the vote twelve times and still not be Speaker of the House. <g>
