An all new, updated lesson on the classic Norman Blake tune “Church Street Blues” in the style of Tony Rice. This tune is an interesting hybrid between rhythm and lead playing. In this updated lesson, I included a more in-depth TAB with stem notation along with new backing tracks.

I bought a dvd many years ago anticipating Tony Rice showing how to play this tune. He gave a lesson on putting on a capo, played the song flawlessly, and moved on to the next song. Im still struggling

Hi Brandon, right at the beginning of the pickup, you’re saying open A then second fret of the A as does the tab, but your ring finger is holding down the third fret . No criticism, just saying . Fantastic tune

Yeah this isn't quite right for Tony's version, better videos out there. And watching the video of Tony playing it helps a lot

...but the Tony Rice style and version is a bit more different and complicate and complete..this looks like to Blake's orginal version..sorry but it is real
