How Mosquitoes Use Six Needles to Drink Your Blood

When a mosquito bites you, it inserts six sharp needles into your skin. One of the needles injects a saliva that numbs the area so you don't feel the bite, allowing the mosquito to drink your blood undisturbed. This is why you don't notice the bite right away. But this injected saliva also triggers your immune system, resulting in a familiar bump and an itching sensation.
Interestingly, mosquitoes are much more attracted to people with Type O blood than to those with other blood types. They are also drawn to people wearing red, blue, or black clothing.
