Clara Oswald is the impossible girl. The woman 'twice dead'. One of the most enigmatic figures the Doctor has ever encountered. It was a leaf that brought her parents together... a single leaf that fluttered into someone's face and set in motion a string of events that has involved so much love, heartache, adventure and mystery... Now it is Clara who holds the key to so many events throughout all the Doctor's life times.

"What kind of idiot would try to steal a faulty TARDIS?"
*points to all of my fellow Whovians*

Bad wolf and this scene makes it seem

Like Time itself is working to ensure the doctor stays safe.

When you think about it, Clara is one of the most important character in the entire mythos. She inspired a child Doctor to let fear be a strength and to be never cruel nor cowardly (his promise as a Doctor). Then she met and saved every incarnation of the Doctor, from 1st regeneration to 11th. She also inspired the Doctor to save Gallifrey as opposed to destroying it and led the Doctor through a brand new cycle of Regenerations, a rarity for Time Lords.

For all who argue about how she doesn't remember her 'echoes', it's been stated in non-televised DW material that after The Doctor rescues her from his timeline, she vaguely remembers the events her echoes were in afterwards, and she has absolutely has no memories of her time with the 12th Doctor cause they haven't happened at this point.

"He always looks different, but I always know it's him"

Oh yeah, you sure did in "Deep Breath"...

Really wish they had done literally anything with this premise after this episode. Running into a couple of Claras across the universe could have made some good stories, I know it was done in one comic

The archive footage used for this sequence are:

1st doctor: The Aztecs
2nd doctor: The Five Doctors
3rd doctor: The Five Doctors
4th doctor: The Invasion of Time
5th doctor: Arc of Infinity
6th doctor: N/A
7th doctor: Dragonfire
8th doctor: N/A (I think it's a body double)
9th doctor: N/A
10th doctor: N/A (although footage from Forest of the Dead was in another scene)

I'm calling it now. Clara Oswald is a brilliant setup for Moffat to finally tell the story of the Time War. He needed her character for that and spent the entire season setting it up. 50th anniversary will be the crowning of this entire season.

I would steal her wardrobe. From all eras. Every outfit is perfect ^^

Now, before I say what I plan to say, let me state this: I love Clara (character and actress) and I'm glad for every Episode more that we get/got with her.

So please don't get me wrong when I say this: *This* would have been the *perfect* end for Clara. Perfect. The most epic, heroic, awesome, amazing wibbly wobbly timey wimey "death" any DW companion could ever wish for. Born *and* died to save the Doctor, now that truly is the way to go. What an epic exit this would have been - seriously, whatever way they're going to think of to truly write her out now is always going to pale in comparison.

I love this sequence. Jenna's narration and Murray Gold's music make a powerful combo.

Pause at 1:07 or 1:08. The man that runs past Clara before the 2nd Doctor is the 8th Doctor!

Also, 4 DAYS TO

The Impossible Girl will carry on until that last heartbeat happens. And she's adorable. And, despite the different eras and attires, she always looks good. This episode sets the mark that Clara is different from other companions, and special in being in contact with every Doctor up to that point, and soon to meet two more.

Donna was flawed and that made her brilliant. Clara is brilliant and that makes her flawed.

This would have been pretty damn good if Moffat didn't make the fundamental cock-up of rewriting the events described in Neil Gaiman's excellent "The Doctor's Wife".

In "The Doctor's Wife" we learn that the Doctor stole the TARDIS because he thought it was 'beautiful', but that the TARDIS also stole him as well.

But rather than going with that in this story as well, Moffat bins that idea and instead has Clara suggest the TARDIS to the Doctor. WRONG.

What I don't understand is, after the events of Name of the Doctor - aren't there still a million Clara splinters existing, each to save the Doctor at some point? It was never explained how they all went away.

If not, where are they? It would be cool to see episodes with multiple Clara splinters interacting.

One of the best scenes in Doctor Who's history...until you remember the events of The Doctor's Wife. And I am very angry that they skipped the rest of Series 6 and the other episodes of Series 7b. Even still, that line "What kind of idiot would steal a faulty TARDIS?!" is hilarious.
