Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients:
Dough:
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 125ml warm milk
- ½ tsp salt
- 300g bread flour
- 50g caster sugar
- 35g melted butter
- 1 tsp yeast
Filling:
- 35g soft butter
- 100g dark brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
Icing:
- 25g cream cheese
- 10g soft butter
- 50g icing sugar
- ¼ tsp vanilla essence
Method:
1. Put the dough ingredients, in the order above, into your bread maker. Select the ‘DOUGH’ setting and start the bread maker.
2. Prepare the filling: combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Make the icing: combine the cream cheese, butter, icing sugar, vanilla essence and salt. Set both aside.
3. If you’re using an air fryer to cook it then preheat it to 200°C for 4-5 minutes.
4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to the size of an A4 sheet of paper.
5. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle cinnamon/sugar mixture evenly over top.
6. Starting at the longer end, roll up the dough to form a long sausage. Cut into 6 equal sized pieces.
7. Place the rolls in the warm air fryer drawers if that's what you’re using. If not, then place on a baking tray, cover with a tea towel and find somewhere else warm. Leave to rise for 30-40 minutes until doubled in size.
8. Bake at 160°C in the air fryer on ‘BAKE’ setting if yours has one, if not, then normal air fry also works. Don't use the crisping plate, put them directly into the drawer base. Bake for 15 minutes.
If you are using a fan oven then bake in the oven at 200°C for 15 minutes.
