Thank you, Rabbi Sytner, and enjoyed the interesting comments of Harry Pearle, the spot on comment of Juliette York, and the uplifting and loving comment of "upbeat and cheerful and non prejudiced in any way, just trying to get people to be more loving to each other, and using the Rashi/Rashi's grandson origin of the slanting of the mezuzah, as a vehicle to communicate such." by Rory White. Wishing you all a peaceable evening.

A LEANING Mezuzah suggests to me an effort to lean forward, to move to new challenges.
Every time we walk through a door, we take a risk. Are we willing to try to lean into the challenge?
We may succeed, or we may fail, but we can at least try, one step at a time, to move forward,
(Also the slant suggests to me a Torah being put down, to read. Torah sharing may bring peace)

I heard from a halakhic authority, that all Jews placed their mazuzot vertically, but in Christendom, the Christians would scratch or draw a horizontal line across them, turning the mazuzot into crosses. As a result, Ashkenazi Jews began putting them on a slant.

I am not Jewish. But I love the Lord our God. And I love Jewish Law. I have memorized the Shema. Would it be ok for me to put the Mezuzah on my door too? To remind me of exactly what this video suggests? Peace in the home. And when leaving, peace within me.❤❤

This is Ashkenormativity. The slanting of a mezuzah is found among the Ashkenazim, White Jews. Shame on you Aish for telling all viewers that all Jews slant their Mezuzot. According to the Sefaradim, the Jews of Spain and Portugal in which I belong to, the Mezuzah is be kept vertically straight always. This video only demonstrates the opinion of the Ashkenazim and doesn't even mention customs from other Jewish communities. Jews of color and diverse ethnic backgrounds have to face constant racism from Ashkenazim because of Ashkenormativity. Very disappointed Aish.
