Gilberto Camara: Ontological Issues in Big Earth Observation Data Analysis

Gilberto Camara (Group on Earth Observations, Switzerland) gives a talk at the EROSS 2020 series entitled “ Ontological Issues in Big Earth Observation Data Analysis”.
Gilberto Camara is the Secretariat Director for the Group on Earth Observations (GEO). GEO is a partnership of more than 100 national governments and in excess of 100 Participating Organizations that envisions a future where decisions and actions for the benefit of humankind are informed by coordinated, comprehensive and sustained Earth observations. He is a former director of Brazil's National Institute for Space Research (INPE), where he was responsible for creating the program for data transparency about the Amazon deforestation processes. He has done seminal scientific work regarding conceptual modeling aspects of observational data and has received many important honors and awards (including the NASA Pecora Award, the Global Citizen Award from the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association, as well as a Dr. Honoris Causa from the University of Muenster, Germany).
