Franck Pachot #KnowSQL presentation at DOAG2020
Показать описание
NoSQL databases emerged 10 years ago and are still very popular. Why? Because SQL is too slow and doesn't scale? Or because it is too complex? Or not flexible enough? The session will clarify between myths and facts. First, do we know what we are talking about? No SQL? Or Not Only SQL? Is it really about the SQL, Structured Query Language, or about relational data modeling? Or is about ACID properties? Maybe Structured data vs. non-structured or semi-structured?
We will start with definitions. And history, because some IT trends are cyclical. The goal is to understand your requirements and find the possible solutions in 2020, where some NoSQL databases are fully ACID and some SQL databases store JSON and key-values.
