Ed Feigenbaum, 1994 Turing Award recipient being interviewed by Don Knuth, himself a Turing Award recipient. This long, 6 hour, interview is broken into 4 shorter sessions. While many different topics are considered in their discussion, the first part of the video deals with his early life and education and how he first got interested in Artificial Intelligence. The second part deals with his part in early expert systems and some of the people he collaborated with in his research projects and one of his research collogues convinced him that they were doing important work and that they should save their papers for future historians to use. The third part Feigenbaum begins by trying to describe the heuristics he uses in his personal life and how he used them in defining his research programs and well as the circumstances in which he was involved in founding various firms. The last part includes how and why he go so interested in the work going on in Japan and how his love for their culture and work has continued.
