We had a similar situation in Canada when a right wing “news” channel was going under. They demanded our telecommunications regulator grant them “mandatory carriage”, meaning all providers would have to carry it. Their ratings were so bad that one cable company said that on some days the channel that just shows HD landscape pics with soothing music had more viewers.
