Congratulations on your baby news ❤ lots of new knitting opportunities for you!
I’m not a fan of sock knitting but chiagoo needles are really good as they are pointy…magic loop is perfect for sock knitting as the circumference is so narrow.
Happy knitting 🧦🧶❤

Congratulations! Beautiful news! ❤ I found linen shirts to be a lifesaver during pregnancy as you can wear them closed during the early trimesters, open when you start to show with a cami and then they are also really useful afterwards for breastfeeding (if you’re thinking of that as an option)

Congratulations 🎉 on your baby news. I'm going to be a Grandma for the first time in September, so l've been trying to knit some baby things🥰. I do know that my son and partner are having a boy. Take care

Congrats again on your news, that's amazing!! :)
Re baby blanket - just be beware that fluffy yarn and babies don't necessarily match and you probably won't be able to have mohair/suri etc close to baby's face (besides the cleaning question of a pram blanket which will most likely be spat on and tossed out the side of the pram at some point (at least if your child is anything like mine). If you're aware and you decide to go ahead anyways, GO FOR IT - I just thought I'd mention it :)
Re socks: I knit so many socks but honestly don't see the point in sock interchangeables! In your shoes I'd get a 80cm 2.25 or 2.5mm needle and go for it. You can always change stitch count (i.e. from 64 to 60) if you're having fit issues. Even if you eventually decide to use shorties (which as a tight knitter might not be particularly comfortable), you'll need the long needle for the heel and toes anyways.
Hope this helps - I hope I haven't butted in too much - feel free to ignore any unwanted advice! :)

Congratulations, Lizzy! I'm so excited for you and your husband to have a little baby. ☺ It's funny, for each of my pregnancies I also completely lost my knitting mojo for at least the first trimester. It always came back, but it was one of the sure signs I was pregnant, haha! I think your intuition is right about sock knitting being good with little people running around. They really are easy to pick up and put down and are easy to take anywhere. Good luck with your sock experimenting! Beware: it can become addicting. 😉 Also, I LOVE the hand dyed skeins you dyed! They came out so well! What a fun thing to do together with your mom. ❤

I am an advanced beginner sock knitter and I like using three Chiaogoo 9 inch needles. On legs and foot you use one as a small circular to knit in the round and heels you use three like dpn’s. It’s nice because they are flexible.
Congratulations 🍾 ❤

I love knitting socks. My favorite method is 9" circulars. I use 2 of them (one for each sock) and cast on both socks at the same time. I work cuff, cuff, leg, leg, etc. Then when I get to the heel, I use a longer (40") needle to work the heel flap, then resume with my 9" circular to work the gusset and the rest of the sock until I get to the toe. For the toe I switch back to my 40" and that's the only portion I do on magic loop. Honestly you wouldn't even need the 2 9" circulars unless you want to work both socks simultaneously (avoid 2nd sock syndrome) so the entry doesn't have to be very costly.

Congratulations! Lovely to see you again! And a very good reason to have had a break from uploading but you never need to explain yourself.
Personally I prefer the central double decrease side

I recommend The Crazy Sock Lady on YouTube. She has loads of great tutorials for vanilla socks on dpns, magic loop and 9” circulars. She also has lots of patterns on Ravelry. It’s how I learned to knit socks and I found it really easy. Also Winwick Mum, who has some fantastic sock knitting books out. Congratulations on Baby Hive Knits. Sending love from Kent, Sam x

Congratulations Lizzie, I cant wait to see all your baby knits.
Sock knitting wise, i'd highly recommend Summer Lee Knits, she has a really good free Vanilla sock pattern that was one of the first i used, and my first pair of socks wasn't a disaster! Also, Tin Can Knits have a free sock pattern too .... I cant remember the name of it - maybe Flax - and that is also a great entry level sock pattern.

I was a new sock knitter this time last year. I found summer lee knits and earth tones girl a both brilliant resources.
If you are a tight knitter I would start with 2.5mm and if VERY tight 2.75mm. Standard is 64 st cast on, but again summer lee has some fantastic videos.
I learnt via magic loop. BUT I have just switched to tiny wood 10cm long DPNs and honestly they are game changing. Heel, flap and gusset is prob your best bet as a starting heel technique xx

Congratulations! I found small circumference tricky for socks at first - I prefer magic loop; I started with 2.25mmm and crazy sock lady’s vanilla sock pattern; have NEVER swatched for socks… but thoroughly love having something small on the go… great for car knitting xxx

Congratulations! Amazing news. I have never had any children so I can’t relate to the changes and low energy associated with it, but I can certainly agree it is a great reason to have been absent from YouTube. Looking forward to seeing you whenever you are feeling up to it in the future.

Huge congratulations to you and your husband! Such an exciting time for you both. I bought the First Tee pattern the day you released it but haven't cast it on yet. I finally got my yarn at Unravel in February ( actually delivered to me all the way from Denmark). It's Gepard Wild Wool Silk which I couldn't get enough of from the only stockist in the UK. I'm a bit nervous of starting in case I make a hash of it, I am by no means a confident knitter and I've not done several of the techniques involved. I really like the look of the Tao Slipover - I also like the sweater version but a slipover might be what I go for when you release the pattern. I have a slight preference for the double decrease armhole, I just think it looks a bit neater. Lovely baby knits too. I've come across Babylon Leather but haven't made one. I don't think I have the time or patience, let alone the sewing skills! Your hand dyed yarns are amazing, what a fun thing to do.
Re your sock dilemma, I have never knitted socks but plan to try my first pair this year (not committing myself too much). My first advice is to look at Crazy Sock Lady on YouTube, she has a great video tutorial for basic vanilla socks on 9" circulars though I think you need to magic loop the toe part. (she has the pattern on Ravelry). I'm a tight knitter but I'm going to use 2.25mm needles and just see what happens. If they end up too small I'll just have to gift them to someone with little feet!

I have the Kelly bag from Babylon but haven’t started to sew it up. Now I’m inspired to start. Congratulations on the baby.
