The gungame mode would have been the best mode in the game if an assist mechanic was in yhe game, something like if you do the most amount of damage to an enemy, you advance to the next brawler as well for the player who killed the enemy

I have needed half an hour to get top 4 once, no exaggeration. If you wanna kill someone these things happen:
1. They run away and get killed by someone else instead.
2. Someone comes from your behind and sandwiches you.
3. Someone spawns a few tiles behind you and sandwiches you.
4. A third person comes and kills you both.

And for when trying to killsteal:
5. You get there 1-2 seconds to late, and than the survivor is full hp again and sandwiches you with someone who happens to come from your behind instead of his.
6. A fourth person killsteals.
7. They decide to just kill you first instead, even though they are way closer together than you are.

Random reasons I don't get kills that often is:
8. walking across half the map and finding enemies because they are all on the other side.
9. I randomly get put with masters as a mythic 2.

I get like 3 kills on avarage each game. About 10-15% of the potential kills I actually get. And that while I actually win at the very least 40% of the actual 1 vs 1's. probably even over half if the brawler is not Colt.

Please note that my winrate in any other mode is higher than 50%, what is pretty normal. It's really just this mode. Even mirror match never is a problem, and showdown I usually lose the first few games, but after I get in the showdown mindset it goes ways better. (I have like 3000-4000 games in 3 vs 3, and less than 200 in solo showdown. Hate the power cube system there.)

I like this mode. Obviously there's killsteals, but that happens in every single gungame mode ever. Besides, i'm not gonna act like I let an enemy chasing down a low health opponent simply kill him like a gentleman, i'm tryna get that easy kill. You have to be good at confirming kills, or be a parasite and leech off other's success. If your strategy isn't working, do what everyone else is.
