I saw FIREBRAND last night in the cinema and my jaw was on the FLOOR - he was so damn good as HVIII. This man has had an illustrious career, with some of his best work in the latter half but THIS performance ? For me, the BEST of his career. Hands down. He is stunning in firebrand, horrifying, complex, multi layered - just as the real Henry was (Tudor historian, here!) ❤

You say he had wounds that hadn't healed in _years?_ Things like that make me glad _I_ don't live back then. Even the wealthiest were not really very well off.

My favourite of Jude's roles is still his performance as Jerome in Gattaca - but goodness he's inhabited a lot of vastly different characters exceptionally well in his career.

Some people look better when they age. Jude is one of them.

It’s so weird to see Jude without the Dumbledore beard again it’s like they’re two different people 😅 Love him, so kind and ridiculously talented!

Jude got my attention and I became a fan after his role a contract killer in "The Road to Perdition". Of course, you had some heavy weights there too: Tom Hanks, Paul Newman & Daniel Craig.

Jude Law in Ripley is one of the best movie acting performances of all time.

Sounds like he put the privy in Privy Chamber!

I was confused when he called Catherine "his latest wife" because I thought Catalina de Aragón was his first wife (so the one Henry broke up with the Church to divorce). Went to check and there were two other Catherines later on lol, seems he liked the name more than the women.

Jude Law despite the beautiful face played great characters with depth. He's British, and most Brit actors are theater-trained, and smart.

How in the hell did the open sores he had for ten years not get infected, especially in those days.

I'm sure this is a good movie BUT if you want the best depiction of Henry the Eighth then you need to watch the series Tudors!
