We can't talk about Charles without thinking about Diana.

My bet is the coronation is going to be on June 2nd 2023, exactly 70 years after his mother’s.

Hello, As an American, I have loved watching the Royal events, their visits to other countries, and promoting their charitable endeavors in the newspapers and on the news. Also, like any fan of the Royals, I take any gossip and salacious headlines with a grain of salt that never hold any true credibility.
With that being said, I do hope King Charles III will be a great king. I also hope that the King will make the British public proud in his life of service. Granted, I always will hold a special place in my heart for Princess Diana… but I digress. I hope Charles makes the monarchy proud.

I think that Prince Edward and his wife Sophie will make an excellent Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

Longest reigning British monarch? I mean she obviously was but can we not forget that she was the longest reigning monarch of all time with identifiable dates without the need for a regent. Louis XIV reigned for 72 years and 110 days which is the longest reign in history by identifiable dates but he was crowned king when he was 4 and a half and had a Regent(ie someone Standing in ruling for him) til the age of 15.
So if we discount that Liz was the longest reigning monarch of all time by 8 years (Louis ruled for c.62 years without a Regent)

Some of this is already out of date. The first coins with the king's profile will appear before the end of the year.

Your are right about the Banknotes not changing until 1960 onwards but the coinage changed in 1953, not to say though the older coins continued to circulate along side it for many years. The Royal mint has issued the design for a new 50p with Charles 111 on it to be issued this year.

It's amazing to watch Charles change from The Prince of Wales to King.
When he was proclaimed King there was a totally different persona about him. He was a morning for his mother but he stepped up to the plate and I think he will be a good King. At least that is one Americans opinion.
GOD SAVE THE KING

I expect he will have his Coronation anytime after Easter weekend in 2023.

But before the Autumn/Fall next year.

Actually i think King Charles will bring a good king like his dear late majesty, The Queen.

As far as the title Prince Consort goes, that was bestowed on Prince Albert mainly because he was a foreigner and there was no way Parliament was going to grant him the title King Consort.

The title of King Consort was used a couple of times in the UK's history. Queen Mary I's husband Philip II of Spain was refered to as such, of course he was already King of Spain in his own right when he married the Queen of England, so they kinda had to. Also, I believe that Scotland's Queen Mary I's second husband, Lord Darnley, was so refered to in Scotland during their marrage.

Money probably won’t start being distributed with Charles on till 2023 at the earliest. Other sources have said that money with the late queen on it will continue to be printed for the remainder of 2022.

Before 1960 banknotes did not have a image of the monarch, so Elizabeth II was the first sovereign to have his/her image on them.

If the monarchy is to survive, they need to keep the pomp and ceremony. Without that there is no point in the crown.

I think the fact that Charles is now in fact King will obviously allow him to conduct things in a way that he feels is right and befitting.

Charles has always been known for his sensitivity but I think that is something that could work in his favour.

As was clearly visible during his mother's funeral he is deeply appreciative of the support shown to him and his family by the general public and this even led to himself and William coming out to greet well-wishers and to shake hands with many of them.

I can't help but feel that this will help endear them to a lot of the British public.

Also his obvious dislike of Andrew and the fact that he plans to cut him out of the public picture. Focusing more on William & Kate, Anne & her husband along with Edward & Sophie not to forget Camilla then there's no real need for the other members of the family to be conducting public duties.

Andrew can get lost.

Whilst Harry & Meghan are of course welcome to come visit at anytime but have their own lives in the US to contend with

The people who doesn't like Charles and Carmella because of what happened when Diana was alive, need to remove their heads from their butts, get over themselves and move on

Streaming Charles's coronation would be a good idea just as Elizabeth did with TV make it look more modern would probably help the coronation a lot

From what I have read, I wouldn't really expect to see King Charles face on bank notes or coins until 2024 at the earliest.

Even if Charles had abdicated the throne; William would have refused to take it. He is extremely loyal to his father, and is one of his biggest fans.
