Tutorial & Solo Playthrough of Five Tribes

In this video, I teach and play through the solo mode of Five Tribes by Bruno Cathala and Days of Wonder. In Five Tribes, you are trying to take control of the land and become the new sultan. I made a mistake regarding the blue meeple action. You also count the tile you ended your movement on if it has a blue reward icon. Thanks to my audience for catching that error!

Five Tribes is one of my favorite multiplayer games although it took a long rest during the pandemic with a recent reboot. Only recently did I discover there is a solo mode so I’m looking forward to solo play now that I’ve watched your most helpful tutorial. I’ve only played with expansion sets minimally in the past but wondering if people have been playing solo play with one or both expansion sets? I’m probably jumping way ahead of my skill level as the base game solo will probably be enough. 😮

Great play through as always. I thought you did well to get to Junior Jafaar. You would have to have a "Splendid" game indeed to get to Saladin level.

thanks for the video, it was very helpful. i just have problems finding the solo rules on days of wonder hp. could it be that those have been removed? i can only see the ordinary rules.

Shouldn't the blue meeples the AI picked up be costing you a little more? In the rules it says to count the surrounding tiles and the one that you picked up the meeples from to determine the points.
