3 Steps To Add Creative Gospel and Jazz Ideas To Any Song | From Beginner To Advanced

Learn how to take a song starting with the melody, and develop it into more complex ideas on piano from gospel and jazz.

Step 1. Write Out The Melody and Basic Chords.
This is an important musical step so do not skip
Step 2. Add 7ths, chord substitutions, and basic passing chords
When possible, make each chord either a major 7th, minor 7th, dominant 7th, or diminished
Step 3. Add 2-5-1 passing chords, chord extensions, and movements.
