We have picked a winner! Congrats to Sean T. - I have notified them that they won via email and will wait to hear back until Monday the 5th. If I don't hear back from Sean by then, I'll be picking a new winner.

Thanks to everyone who entered, and to the folks who tried to game the system by automating an entry every 5 minutes - I removed duplicates, so your efforts were in vain, and I hope you step on a LEGO.

SCAM ALERT!! Someone is contacting people who (I guess) commented on this video by email telling them that the won. I assume they're matching up username with a Gmail address or something.

Anyway - I'm not picking a winner until August 1st, and I will be contacting the winner directly - tune up your spammy spidey-senses...people are terrible!!

Best part of this video was the box hitting the cat during unboxing. I want to see UniFi make an ISP router replacement for fiber connections.

I wish more ISP would just give you a Fiber connection and a SFP+ port that was open and they didn't have to give you any boxes.

Just setup the UCI on my new place in Portland yesterday. Wish I had a fiber option here like I did in Philly but I’m hopeful that this hardware will help me get the most out of my 1200/40. Not nearly enough time to say, but I do love that my rack will be fully represented and controlled via UnifiOS now.

had this for a few months now. while my previous modem didn't have issues I wanted the unified look in my rack. they don't specify my ISP as supported but everything has worked and been stable with decreased latency over my previous netgear and motorola.

Bought mine the minute they were available. Really happy to have it. Took about ten minutes to activate that involved online chat with a rep. Forget calling in. Online chat is better.

I've been using this with Cox for several months, and while I very much like what it's done for my equipment rack, I don't know that my internet experience has really improved. If anything, there were a few features I was expecting out of a higher-tier product like this that I didn't get, namely the ability to configure an auto-reboot if the device detects a loss of internet for a specified length of time. I also ran into an issue where I noticed a loss of internet while I was offsite, reached out to Cox, but they were unable to trigger a remote modem reset (something they should be able to to do with any supported modem). Once I got home and reset the modem all returned to normal, but that still implies either the modem itself locked up, or the back-door comms Cox has to this device is not working 100%.

I got the UCI & it took my ISP 1 hour to get it up & running. It's working now & it's been great. I don't see as much network instability as before with their modem.

Bought the UCI based on this video. Can confirm that performance improved from 19 ms down to a consistent 15 ms ping. Bandwidth stayed the same but up-time has improved compared to the ISP modem. I'd say it's worth it if you want to stay with a single-pane of glass when troubleshooting any issues; Ubiquiti support is quite a bit ahead of the ISP support.

Let’s say you have just a Unifi controller not a gateway. Maybe you have just protect or APs. Will the controller still talk to the UCI. Or let’s say you have no Unifi controller. Does the UCI have any interface like a normal modem to check its status?

I am not dumping any more money into cable. I get 1.2 gbps down, but only 40 mbps up. Until symmetrical fiber comes to my home/office it won't help my uploads to servers. 2 miles from me friends are seeing 1+ down and up via fiber.

For Comcast residential service you can get over 200 up if you are in an area that has been upgraded to mid-split or high-split and has OFDMA carries on the upstream. Low-Split, Mid-Split and High-Split are industry terms used to differentiate where the upstream/downstream frequency bands start and end in a cable system.

You also need to have a DOCSIS 3.1 modem that is on the approved list for the faster upload speeds and the UCI is on that list.

One big downside can't even simply look at the signal levels on the modem side like every other modem out there. One reason I havent gotten one yet.

Also it DOES work with more ISP's than listed. My small ISP will allow it. But does not support there midsplit.

I cant believe it took them this long. Thank you for the review.

I was having dropped packets and latency spikes with my Charter ISP and rebooting it weekly. Switched to the UCI with a 5 minute phone call to Charter and the problems went away. I've been seeing the same problems at our Church and while it is a business account, we don't have any static IP's or super high bandwidth. Hopefully it will go smoothly...

I’ve had the UCI since launch and love it, but UI needs to finalize the 1.3.6 firmware. 1.3.2 has issues and I don’t get why I’ve had to run EA firmware for two months to be stable.

It is weird how they list the speeds for Comcast. I have Xfinity and bought this modem, specifically because it was rack mountable and part of the list they have buried on Reddit of modems that work with their 200 upload upgrade to their higher tier packages in the Portland area. I went from my 40 Mbps to 200 Mbps with this.

We switched our infrastructure at the many sites from Cisco to Unifi, and your videos have provided the much needed intel and setup support to get these sites swapped out and running without issues and with greater network stat visibility. Thank you!

i uses charter spectrum, the modem they supplied is only 500mbps and had sent me a upgrades modem that doesn't communicate on the cable system. i have 1gbps. this would be a great upgrade
