As the band director for The Sound of Today - I wanted to share my appreciation for the Jackson State Sonic Boom of the South. They are one of my favorite college marching bands (of any style) and watching them yesterday was an incredible experience. My daughter grew up listening to JSU on YouTube as a baby/ toddler and still watches their videos (almost 4). Yes, we have different ways about expressing our performance, but both can be appreciated.

We do not have 300+ members, but I’m very proud of my 115 students that show up day in and day out to work on our craft. We are working on getting better every day/ week/ year and have been successful in my 3 years at ULM.

I will always be a fan of the Boom and hope that others would help encourage my students as we work towards growth and shared appreciation for our respective cultures.

The choreography of the performance was so amazing. All the different designs and Pyramids they did was beautiful. Sounds is lit 🔥 ! Performance off the chart.

I had to come back to this video after watching "heel-toe ULM" halftime 😂 I now understand why ULM has mics for their band and why JSU was busting through ULM stadium speakers

I'm so glad that the dancers finally got a better choreographer. They no longer look like exotic dancers it look like a serious dance troupe!!

Look up " T.W. Josey high school marching band.. 90's era. The real " Sonic boom of the south " straight from Augusta, Ga. Morris Brown recruited alot folks from that high school !
