Fun fact, Jr’s brother (Sr’s son) also played for the Mariners in 1991 on the rookie ball team, the same year his father and brother played together in the bigs

I’m going to just say from a little snippit in this video. We’ve got to stop putting pressure on the children of athletes to be as great as their parents. I mean I couldn’t even imagine how much pressure those kids must feel especially when a lot of the times they aren’t even in the pro leagues yet.

griffey is without a doubt my favorite player of all time. just so so cool, the smoothest lefty swing in history imo. such an excellent role model, such an excellent force of positivity in the game, definitely up there among the GOATs of the MLB

“Junior was feeling immense pressure .... He nearly collapsed and attempted suicide in high school”
Later in the video: implies that Brony will be in the NBA

Griffey Jr was my favorite baseball player growing up.

I was there, and no one around me even understood what just happened. I had to explain to my friends that they just saw baseball history. I'm a die hard Angeles fan, but you have to take your hat for what the Griffey's did that night.

I mean Geordie Howe played with his sons while on the Hartford Whalers, 4 Staal brothers played in the league at the same time, 3 of them played together in Carolina and started a game all on the same line. Daniel and Henrik Sedin were twins drafted 2nd and 3rd overall by the Canucks and played together for their entire careers and likely both get inducted to the HoF at the same time.
In football I’m pretty sure there was also a case of in an international match where a father got subbed off for his son to come on, pretty sure they were Icelandic

Griffey would have broken the home run record in the 90s if it wasn't for the damn strike the MLB had

Griffeys were my hero and inspiration growing up. My autism and adhd wasnout of control as a kid, the only time i could sit still or concentrate on anything was on the diamond.
I was set to receive a full scholarship to a US school but totally destrohed it self medicating with drugs. My parents always refused to get me any kind of therapy or medication so i found my own way. Im clean and sober now 10 years but my life is barely a shadow of what it could have been 😥
be mindful of kids folks

Will still be more impressive than when/if the James duo makes an alley OOP. Sure, the Griffey pairing was a marketing ploy to an extent, but both of them will had to be legit players. Bronny James could very well turn out to be a legit player, but his playing alongside his father will happen even if he's not.
