What are the two small blue and purple wires for on the power plug and where do they go? there are four wires. I know where Black and Red go.

Thank you.

What do you think about doing dedicated wires to your fish finder and live scope. Leaving fuses near the battery. I am also going to change wire to 8 gauge.

I am a 73 year old amature on these things, however, I did install a Livescope that works a couple of years ago. I tried to follow the instructions and I did not install a cutoff switch. I guess I thought the system was off when the Ecomap was off. It makes sense to have a switch. Can I assume I have had unnecessary wear on the black box or damaged It?

It's just me, but i would use a piece of red tape to the hot black wire just to make it look more professional. Great videos and info .Thanks

Everyone, including Garmin, is suggesting using 10ga marine grade to supply power and ground to the black box. Supplied with the Livescope you receive a harness about 6’ long of 14ga wire. Every video or article I’ve sourced mentions avoiding a voltage drop to the box so it’s recommended you use 10ga wire. But in every video that uses 10ga wire they splice it to the entire 6’ harness of 14 gauge wire and is then coiled and zip tied next to the black box, rather than shorting it and splicing it. IMO reducing the wire size from 10ga to 14ga creates a voltage drop by itself not to mention using the entire 6’ of it.
Yours is the ONLY video that shows you using the original 14ga harness to supply power and ground to the box!
Now my question: what are your thoughts on using 10ga wire or just using the supplied 14ga harness? My install is only about 3-4’ way from a Milwaukee M18 lithium battery. I’m thinking 10ga wire is over kill. Thoughts?

Have you or anyone heard of the screen freezing up while using Livescope? I’m going round and round with garmin on this issue. It works for a few minutes then freezes.

There’s a plain black fake Troll Jacket for lack of a better description on Amazon for like $15 and 1 piece is long enough to cover a lot of wires and make them look better and you can cut it to length so that’s what I did because cmon Troll Jacket….$40 for a name? Lol not today and yeah Brother you don’t need 40’s on those screens and black box sorry I couldn’t help myself lol have a blessed day Brother
