The side by side comparison would have been impressive if you had used the image from the same disc. The upscale feature is to enhance 1080P video. Instead of comparing a standard 1080P image to the upscaled image you compared a 4K image to a 1080P image.

The dual HDMI out lets you run video direct to your projector/TV and the audio output to your processor/receiver via HDMI also. This is the first player that matches the video image quality of my Oppo Bluray, which doesn't stream and has trouble with some new releases. If you switch receivers or speakers, use just the single HDMI to set up so you can use the on screen menu of your processor and when you get it the way you like switch to dual outs for no compromise viewing. You have to activate the audio only output in the 'Home' setup menu under 'HDMI'. I know the video signal isn't supposed to be altered in the pass-thru of the receiver but my OCD tells me otherwise.

Any owners confirm if they have finally released firmware to allow dolby vision to switch automatically each time and not have to manually slect? Also is dolby atmos only from drive or also from usb port?

The freezing issue is caused by the player dynamically updating Bluray/DVD info from the internet. Go to Bluray/DVD settings>BD Internet Connection and select 'Do not allow'. I haven't had any trouble since and don't care about d'loaded bluray info anyway.

I've seen 2 versions of the box for the same model player but the box does not say dolby vision, only 4k hdr. Have you seen this? Really interested in picking one of these up so thanks for the review!

Great video man and very well explained. May I just check this Player will give me good high resolution if I attach it to my Panasonic, GX800, 4K Ultra HD Smart TV? Grateful for your views please. I have upgraded my HTMI cable with gold connectors that is capable for 4K UHD data.
