[SFM] Dummkopfs! A Medic Problem

Fed-up with his team's recent decline in performance, the RED Medic decides to take matters into his own hands and starts going on a killing spree on his own. However, doing so only leads him to being accused as a "battle medic"...

Alright. This was originally going to be my submission for this year's Saxxy Awards. Unfortunately, when I tried to upload it via SFM's Saxxy Award video submission, hours later, I got an error message that said, "There was a problem uploading the movie. Please check your internet connection settings and try again." Three times, I attempted, and three times, the upload failed; that same error message always keeps popping up.

Ultimately, I gave up. x_x Still, I would like to thank anyone out there who suggested me to join the awards. It's no big deal, really. The truth is, I'm not interested with joining the awards. And besides, after looking at some of the more awesome Saxxy Awards entries, I know I will never gonna win. Oh well, for those who *did* manage to upload for the Saxxy Awards, I wish y'all good luck.

About the animation itself, the original title was going to be just "Dummkopfs!". But a friend of mine later advised me to add the subtitle "A Medic Problem". Once again, the entire character animation was animated within the motion editor alone. This time, however, I did use the graph editor instead for a few camera animations in some shots, in order to get a smooth and constant camera motion for those shots. I really enjoyed animating the RED Soldier's helmet; I want to match the way the Soldier's helmet wobbles about as in Meet The Soldier.

Again, this was rendered at 64x depth of field and 64x motion blur. 5 hours to render. I did try to render it at a much higher 128x quality instead; however, halfway through the render, SFM froze, so I stick to just 64x quality at the moment until I get to buy a much better computer in the future.

I love how Red Scout says “Thanks doc” and Medic smiles. Like he's so happy to be thanked. It's adorable.

Remember kiddies, only call out a battle medic when he has done next to no healing.

My true problem when I play medic. Everyone sucks, I go battle medic, then they complain.

Battle Medics are OK, as long as they balance Zhe Hurting and Zhe Healing

I love medic's reaction when soldier yelled "battle medic"

And then the Medic was votekicked for not healing even when he killed all the enemies single handedly.

My day as combat medic.

Dominated every single member of the RED team and capture Intel two times. Saves Pyro from an unseen spy. Some random Heavy yells at me for being useless, calls vote to kick me and every RED votes yes. Facepalm and annoyance comes after.

Here are some things that happen when I'm playing Medic.

1: Teammate is in the safe room about to die, but instead of going to the locker, he waits for me (which may take as long as the game itself if I'm lucky) to heal him.

2: I see a spy changing and about to backstab a teammate, so I do the natural thing and spray the spy down with needles. As a result, the teammate squeaker says something like, "ZoMG Ur A FoOKinG MeDIc yOu CaN'T kiLl!" Thus me being kicked by everyone completely disregarding that I'm top player on the scoreboard.

3: I go as Medic to help the Heavy defend the point. Heavy fights off someone, and a scout, low on health, calls for me. While healing him, the Heavy runs off and dies by a Soldier. Then begins the salty waterfall that is the Heavy complaining on how much I suck, and I'm just another "stupid f2p noob."

So much more to tell, but at this point in writing, I'm getting lazy.

Good medics are medics that heal teammate, attack enemies, but also *know when to run.*

Ze hurting may be more rewarding than ze healing, and there's nothing wrong with it. The reason why conventional wisdom brands battlemedics as a bad idea is that many battlemedics chase enemies too concertedly and wind up getting themselves killed.

And a dead medic can't hurt or heal.

As a medic main I do my best to shoot and heal everyone on the map. And if someone complains about how I play I shoot them too.

And that, is why I use the Crusader's Crossbow.

This is me. Seriously, I'm a battle medic but I also do what I can to watch my teams back when I'm not out there face shredding enemies.

I am fine if someone goes battle medic...just atleast heal people! I had joined a team with a medic that never healed, just went medic for the regenerate health.

Honestly, as a Medic main, I hate the term combat medic.

Why is it we have to hide behind these dumbasses and then die because of that?
Can't we actually assist them without standing ten feet behind them while they take EVERYTHING the enemy's got?
A Medic's arsenal is not only their Medigun.
All Medics have a primary and melee weapon, too.

And I say it's about damn time that using those is okay.

My life as a medic, except usually someone else goes medic and tries to "pick up my slack" and the entire time complains how bad i am as a medic. 9 times outta 10 it ends poorly for the 2nd medic.

As a Medic main, I balance myself as a healing Medic and battle Medic
