Strategies of Top 1% Students #SHORTS

One common misconception is that you must be inherently smart to be a top student. While intelligence does help, anyone can be a top student with these three strategies. The first strategy is to reflect on and adapt your study approach as needed. Rather than resorting to brute force and studying longer hours, top students refine their study techniques based on subject material. They know which subjects are memorization heavy, and which ones are concept-heavy, and their approach changes depending on the subject.

The second strategy is effective time management. Top students know that excessive studying can lead to burnout, so they balance their time between work and leisure. They are also more efficient with their time. Rather than using passive learning techniques such as reading through notes, they use active learning techniques like flashcards, which lead to more effective studying in less time.

The last strategy is to invest in yourself. Top students know that most of their performance is related to their physical and mental health, which is why they invest time optimizing their sleep, nutrition, and exercise.

My experience has been quite positive with flashcards. At start, they seem like a nightmare; quite challenging. However once you get used to them and perhaps active recall becomes more accessible, they really accelerate learning so I recommend it. Also making schematics and lists seem to help in conjuction with flashcards for more concept-heavy subjects like physiology.

The tip about improving your health is EXTREMELY underrated. My brain literally works better when I'm well rested and my stomach is full, while when I'm hungry and tired, I can't focus and get simple questions incorrect! This tip is so ingenious that my goal for the next school year is actually not to study better or harder, but to take care of myself better.

I'm not a top student, but I can understand that much. Thank you for the advice.

Well tbh in my experience I dont agree. I consider myself a top 1% student (A*A*Aa Alevels, got into Imperial, LSE financial maths courses and at the same time got jnto the top med schools in CY and GR, which I chose to go in the end, currently 2nd year with grade 9.65/10) and tbf i dont do fully any of the 3 (ok slightly the 1st, depends on the subject how i study but i dont change that much) and 2nd and 3rd hell no😂 like i dont have a schedule, i wait till the last 1.5 months before the exams to study and those months i sleep like 6 hours😂 so yeah i think every person studues differently and Top students dont get there with the same methods
