'Shrinkflation' tactics companies use to avoid sticker shock l GMA

And yet the Fed Chair, Jerome Powell, insists that the solution to solving inflation is cutting wages. No, the solution is ending this blatant corporate greed, of companies cutting the amount of product you get far exceeding inflation.

They now have a new “MEGA SiZE cereal box. That’s what they do. Overtime the Shrink the size. And reintroduce a new mega size as before at a higher price. We have been getting ripped off for years !

It's laughable to watch the GMA reporters report on SHRINKFLATION, when in fact, they are unaffected by the higher costs based on their salaries. You never see any of them worried or complain. I'd rather have someone report on the matter who can relate to average Americans.

I've actually been noticing this shrinkage in California ever since the minimum wage increased. People will take shortcuts by using additives, diluting the product, shrinking the package/amount, etc. It's just gotten way worse and more obvious now but it's no surprise.

I've noticed that for years! The most apparent one is ice cream cartons. The reg size is breyers is almost the size of a single serve haagen daz and the price is about the same. Companies have been shrinking the size and raising the price simultaneously! It's hwy robbery I tell you! I know this for sure as one of my first job was in a grocery store. I saw the sizes shrink and prices increase daily! The biggest trick is that they run "sales" like it a deal and get you hook so you keep buying the smallersize after the sales go off.

You forgot to mention the size of tp sheets has shrunk too. Many brands rolls are getting narrower and narrower. If you have a standard tp holder the narrowing is quite apparant. It's almost possible with some brands to put 2 rolls side by side in an older house tp holder.

Any company that uses shrinkflation to avoid sticker shock will find them on the short side of the straw. I will no longer support that method.

Almost everything is getting smaller! I noticed dish soaps and laundry soaps are way more diluted with water now. So sick of this!

I've noticed that in butter, pasta in Mac and cheese, and canned vegetables have more water and less vegetables. Watch pretty soon our bread will start containing things like sawdust and crushed concrete.
