As I mentioned in the video, the concrete mix we use is a 6 sack 60/40 pea gravel mix and tests at north of 4000 psi. The house will disappear when the asteroid hits, but the foundation will still be there.

Any extra jamming from the double head on the cordless nailer? I have a regular Hitachi cordless nailer and it seems to jam a bit more then my other ones.

1:38 are the heads of the nail inside the form? I thought the idea of duplex nails was so they can be pulled out easier. How’s this done if there going to be in concrete m?

I am learning a ton from your channel. One question, when you are doing all the rebar layout it is sitting on top of the forms, and then poof it’s underneath when you pour, do you just remove the 18” spacers to drop it in the forms?

I really enjoy your videos! May I ask a question? Near the beginning of the video, I hear/see that you use 2 x 6s to create the footing forms. Later in the video, I heard you say that code calls for the footings to be 8" in depth. How can you get 8" in depth if you frame the forms using 2 x 6? This question probably reflects a misunderstanding on my part. Thanks for answering my question!

I know it's been a while since you posted this video, but I'm getting ready to pour my footers and have snow on the ground. temps should rise by the time mud flows but I am worried. Do you add anything extra to the mix like accelerators or do you cover overnight if the temp is going to drop below freezing?

I can’t imagine myself throwing snowballs at the guy who signed my paychecks back in the day. Of course being the smallest guy on any crew that I worked, I wouldn’t have started anything with the rest of guys for fear of winding up head first in a pile of snow.
