Awesome at handling and running well on multiple surfaces. Animal Kingdom was hell on wheels on conventional dirt in his Kentucky Derby win and narrowly beaten 2nd in the Preakness. Also on the tapeta surface at Meydan when he dominated the Dubai World Cup field. He also ran top shelf races on turf in the states on tracks where he was able to explode coming off of bends. First over a mile at Santa Anita where he ran extremely game in defeat when he finished only 1-1/2 lengths behind Wise Dan for 2nd in the Breeders Cup Mile and again at Gulfstream Park over 9F where despite a somewhat impeded run he exploded off the last turn to finish a narrowly beaten 2nd only 1-1/4 lengths behind Point Of Entry in the Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap. He didn't however seem to ever adjust well to that stiff straight mile at Royal-Ascot when he was soundly beaten by Declaration of War in the Queen Anne Stakes in the final race of his career.
