How To Fix Zoom Cannot Start Video Camera Problem on Windows 10

Command Prompt Commands:
dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
sfc /scannow

Hello Youtube! In this video, we will show you how to fix your Zoom Meetings problem that your camera is not working on Zoom and you get the error message of:

Cannot start video and then failed to start video camera. Please select another video camera in Settings.

If your camera (integrated camera or dedicated camera) is not recognized by your laptop or computer or PC and it is not working properly on your Zoom App, then this fix will get your camera running again in an easy and quick way. However, if this doesn't work, the recommendation is to first restart your PC after all the solutions and fixes, and then try reinstalling windows. Meant for all current Windows versions: XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and of course Windows 10.

Thank you so much Shiven. I have been unable to use my brand new laptop since I bought it as the camera wouldn’t work 90% of the time on zoom. It has been a real pain in the pandemic… especially with a child studying from home. I had the Dell people also look at it but they said that there was no issue from their side. Integrated Camera works through camera App (Dell Precision M6800 / Windows 8) but does not work with zoom... Just suddenly stopped working

Unfortunately didn’t solve my issue 😔. The camera always works when I open up zoo. The first time, but when I turn off the camera it will never turn back on unless I close out of the app

For me, I stupidly realized late that my camera was active in another program (Camera app). Closing the program fixed my issue :)

Hi, thanks for sharing these tips. My problem seems to be that, I can see the inbuilt video camera name in the Zoom Settings Video, change parameters etc. But when i start the session I get the same error message "Failed to start the video camera". With other apps like google meet the camera works fine. Only with Zoom it seems to be an issue... any suggestions please...

Great video thanks. I was having an issue getting my Sony A6000 camera to work with my PC laptop, changing the settings in Run > reigate etc DID help to make it visible. Now however, the camera image is solarized (or what looks like moving colored lines around the images components...its really odd looking). Any idea why it would look this way? Fwiw my laptop is an Acer Predator with 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11900H @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz and 32GB RAM. The built-in camera and a different external webcam image looks normal. Prior to making the settings changes in your video, the screen from the A6000 look great, but I couldn't get it to show the screen in my Zoom camera options (I kept getting an error message). Any help is appreciated, thanks!
