Typo, she is NOT the CEO of Warnermedia. Jason Kilar is, Ann is the CEO of Warner Brothers studio.

You’re obviously going to reach a wider audience with streaming service than movie halls and it’s not like all movie halls offer the same or quality experience, so that point that people make about streaming service being inferior doesn’t hold. If you record and process your movie in high detail, you can now transmit it over the internet or through optical storage and the experience offered by highest end OLED TVs and a good sound system is just as good as that offered by multiplex movie halls. Although, for most people, movie halls are still going to be more affordable and viable option than in-home setup for similar experience. So, the difference really boils down to how much money you can make by releasing movies in halls vs. streaming service. I think that movie halls make a significant amount of money from expensive than usual food (you can’t bring your own food) and the rush that they create for watching the content earlier than others (on day one). So, people are willing to pay a huge margin over the operating costs. I’m not so sure if people would be willing to pay a huge margin over the cost that it takes to stream a movie per user, if the supply isn’t limited and most people are going to get a much inferior experience. The whole appeal of streaming service is that users can save a lot of money and still be able to watch a movie and know the story. This means that streaming service needs to have a much larger scale of operation than all the movie theatres combined to make the same amount of money. As far as I know, most halls stay vacant during 4th or 5th day of the show and the people who haven’t watched it generally don’t watch it until it’s aired for free with their existing cable subscription (Blu-ray is mostly bought by collectors who have already watched the movie, I guess). So, it feels to me like enough demand for existing movies isn’t there to justify the scale required by streaming service. However, if you’re making a different kind of movie, targeting an audience that really doesn’t have access to theatres, then things might change.

It’s a good decision, they’re mistake was not telling everybody involved .... it’s weird that they gave Gal & Patty a heads up but nobody else ... they’re not even WB best or biggest directors and actors

Yep stick to your guns WB stick to your guns. IMO this is amazing and it creates competition also it forces Disney+ to react the EXACT same way to keep up with WB (HBO Max). The streaming wars is where it's at and i love it man 😎👊

Prima cinema was around a long time ago it did not effect content creators! This reporter is not an expert, thank you HBO max. This whole thing of wasting time, parking, wait in line, plus the movie theater experience is just so dated. Sorry rather pay to watch at home. Will be subscribing. Thank you.

Here's what they were trying to do. Use those MEGA movies as a reason to use their streaming service. When the movies are in theaters. At&t, the ppl who work on the project, theatre chains, arr all touching the profit. Given the fact that the profit is touching many different sets of hands, they wanted to maximize their profits. They also have HBO Max which only has 8 million subs with 4.5 million paying subs. This was a business strategy to use their mega movies so people can get hooked on their streaming service. The problem is it affects theatre chain workers and Hollywood.

I forgot to add these are the same executives who ruined Wonder Woman.

How do you go from a great movie like the first Wonder Woman, to the Christopher Reeve Superman ripoff, and still ruin WW1984?

It’s only because I’m a huge DC fan that I completely watched the whole movie, but there were multiple times I wanted to shut it off. It was a complete disaster.

Would the actual people in charge of Warner Bros please get your executives in check, or maybe time to play musical chairs again, and hire some competent executives.

Happy fans = more views, more merchandise, etc. = more $$$$ for the company.

It’s not hard to understand.

Thank you for reading my rant.

Warner Bros have never had their $&@? Together in their office. This is why the marvel universe has been demolishing them. They have the right creative executive minds to make the right decisions to make great movies and keep fans excited.

They label the fans toxic because they don’t agree with them, single out the few morons who make in appropriate comments online to justify their decision making mistakes. I feel this is the same cancel culture being used on this platform.

It just really is sad that we won’t witness the true movie magic and the right portrayal of the justice league we deserve as fans, because of the egotistical executives that make the wrong decisions.

I guess that’s why we have marvel to rely on instead; even though I’m a bigger DC fan.

Thanks a lot. 🙄
