As a Data Scientist who worked in a manufacturing company I can tell you this explanation 35:37 and breakdown of "normalization" is the most helpful thing you will ever hear in your career. That is because EVERYTHING that you will want to do with your data will involve some sort of joining or matching together different data from different sources based on a timestamp and/or other criteria for the sake of building a consolidated data product to train an algorithm on. Some other examples I can think of are normalizing machine conditions data against quality measurements, or normalizing electrical energy consumption readings against machine status.
Thank you, Walker.

Great presentation, Walker. Always learn something from your presentations, whether it is information on UNS or Industry 4.0, or how to present.

Why don’t show a slide at 34:15 and 38:00? And interesting to hear from you, Walker, a difference between MDM and UNS. OEE is crucial for manufacturing mngmt, but what you can get from UNS? Thanks!

Do you recommend a robust and specialized data operation platform as the core platform and single source of truth for other applications like Asset Predictive Analytics to sit on top

I agree with being vendor neutral. However, I think you would benefit front rising above Dallas though. There are many, many business opportunities outside of mfr. My suggestion would be to think how your goals apply outside of just mfr. Cheers. I appreciate what you do!
