For me I just disconnected my internet net and it works while it’s off

I disconnected the PS3 from the internet and I was able to boot up the game to resume the campaign. There is also a YT video showing how to adjust the internet settings called: FATAL ERROR FIX - Call of Duty 4

You have to turn off the Internet and then it will work (at least for me)

I too have encountered this error. Very odd. I was just working my way through the campaign. Playing MW 1-3 campaigns before I jumped into the multiplayer.
