Warchief (2024) Trailer - Lionsgate Fantasy Thriller

ComingSoon is excited to debut the exclusive trailer for Lionsgate's newest fantasy thriller Warchief, which hails from writer-director Stuart Brennan. Warchief is scheduled to make its debut on September 17, on demand and on digital.

"As the honorable Captain Orion and his band of guardians lead a mysterious messenger to their king, they come under attack from a brutal legion of ravenous braindead creatures," reads the film's synopsis. "After another fierce and costly battle with savage Orcs, the messenger reveals her identity as a master of the dark arts and that a war is on the horizon. As their once-peaceful world comes under siege and a future kingdom ruled by the undead is foretold, Orion and his forces make one final stand for the soul of all mankind."

Yet another movie that has the look and feel of an ambitious YouTube short film from aspiring actors, vfx and makeup artists etc., but fails to feel like a "real movie". There is just something about it that screams "running around in the woods behind the house" filmmaking. Lens choices, framing, drowning everything in tight angles, backlighting and fog to hide the lack of cool locations ...

Sorry to shit on some person's dream - specifically actor / writer / director / producer Stuart Brennan, but this looks super low budget. especially the orc, who looks like a regular sized person in green makeup and prosthetic teeth. looking cheap is a death sentence to fantasy and sci-fi.
